The Shark Tank in Martha's Vineyard, Mass. - The Martha's Vineyard Sharks crushed the Bristol Blues 13-4 to win the second game of their semifinal matchup, moving the Sharks on to the Championship Series with a 2-0 sweep of Bristol.
Martha's Vineyard dominated from the jump, scoring the first eight runs of the night. The Sharks started things off with one run in the bottom of the first thanks to a Michael Snyder (Washington) single. The home team added two in the third off a Thomas Bramley (Penn St) solo shot and a Marcus Franco (Nova Southeastern) single. A five-run fifth inning broke the game open for the Sharks. Thomas Bramley's two-run double, Michael Snyder's two-run bomb and a wild pitch made it 8-0.
Bristol got on the board in the top of the fifth. Carson Swank (Yale) smacked a three-run homer to cut the lead to five. Vineyard immediately responded, scoring runs in the next three innings. The Sharks walked five straight times in the bottom of the fifth, handing them two runs. They tacked on another in the sixth through a Logan Chambers (Tennessee) single. A Ben Nardi (Catholic) triple and Cavan Brady (Wheaton) groundout in the seventh increased Martha's Vineyard's advantage to 13-3. The Blues added a consolation run in the top of the ninth off an error.
Five Sharks had two-hit evenings. Thomas Bramley and Michael Snyder each added four RBIs to their two hits. Bramley walked three times, while Snyder walked twice.
Martha's Vineyard moves on to face either Sanford or Vermont in the Championship Series. Game one is scheduled for Friday night in either Vermont or Martha's Vineyard.

Goodall Park in Sanford, Maine- The Sanford Mainers forced a game three in the semifinal series against the Vermont Mountaineers after taking the second game with a shutout 5-0 win.
The game was scoreless through four and a half innings before the Mainers punched in all five of their runs over the fifth and sixth. The first came off of a single by right fielder Alex Knapp (George Mason) that brought in third baseman Devan Bade (Binghamton), followed by two walks for catcher MJ Lucas (North Carolina Asheville) and left fielder Kevin Skagerlind (Umass Amherst) to make it 3-0.
Skagerlind's single to center field the next inning gave Lucas and Bade for the second time in the contest.
The Mainers and Mountaineers head back to Montpelier Recreation Field in Montpelier Vt. today, August 4 at 6:30pm for game three to see who will compete against the Martha's Vineyard Sharks in the Championship Series.
Vermont would host Game 1 on Friday with a win, while Sanford would travel to the island for Games 1 & 3, if necessary.
