LOUISVILLE- Kevin Warner, a native of Louisville and a veteran indoor football quarterback, has signed with the Kentucky Xtreme of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL).

Warner, a product of Louisville's Central High School, passed for more than 2,000 yards and rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the Yellowjackets. He was an All-State, All-County and All-District player at Central.

Warner went on to Kentucky State University, where he was named Newcomer of the Year. In 2008, he directed the top-ranked offense in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

He played semiprofessional football with the Louisville Saints in 2009, before entering professional indoor football in 2011 with the Seattle Timberwolves of the Indoor Football League.

In 2012, Warner played for the Ontario Warriors of the American Indoor Football league. He led the team to a 7-0 record, outscoring opponents 502-154. The highlight of the season was a 92-0 drubbing of the Arizona Outlaws. Warner had 38 touchdowns on the season, including eight in one game. He threw just two interceptions the entire season.

"Kevin is a true leader on the field and he knows how to carve up an indoor football defense, which is an intangible that is invaluable in this fast-paced game," Xtreme head coach Roy McMillen said. "We are assembling a corps of talented receivers that will give him many weapons to choose from this season."
