Venom, Westgate Mall to Host Weekend Events

AMARILLO, Texas - The Amarillo Venom, along with Westgate Mall, AMA TechTel and the Dobbs Corporation will sponsor a book drive on March 27, March 28 and March 29 at the Westgate Mall. The event is to donate books to local charities, most notably the Downtown Women's Shelter.
To participate in the book drive, one can bring in a new or gently used book to the Amarillo Venom kiosk at Westgate Mall on March 27, March 28 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on March 29 from noon to 4 p.m. Those who donate a new or gently used book will receive one free ticket to any Amarillo Venom home game.
The Amarillo Venom kiosk is located at the Dillard's Men's Store wing of the Westgate Mall. The Westgate Mall is located at 7701 W. Interstate 40 in Amarillo. Westgate Mall is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
On March 27, players from the Amarillo Venom will read to children in the Play Area from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Play Area is located at the Sears wing of the Westgate Mall.
The event is free and open to the public.
