Amarillo Venom News Release
AMARILLO, Texas - The Amarillo Venom will team up with local championship high school squads and college teams to commemorate their success and achieving their championship goals on March 29. This celebration of champions will be located at the Cal Farley Coliseum of the Amarillo Civic Center before the Venom take on the Rio Grande Valley Sol in Lone Star Football League action.
The celebration of champions is sponsored by the kind folks at KAMR-TV and BritKare Home Medical.
Along with this celebration and Texas Ag Pride Night, the Amarillo Venom will raise their championship banner before their contest against the Rio Grande Valley Sol at 7:05 p.m.
Other teams that will be honored will be the 2013 West Texas A&M football team, the 2013 Wellington Skyrockets football team, the 2013-14 Amarillo boys basketball team and the 2013-14 Canyon girls basketball team, among many other successful programs.
The defending Lone Star Football League champions want to honor these teams and individuals for their prior success and wish those squads more accolades in their upcoming seasons.
As for the Venom, they will ride the momentum gained from the big victory at last week's exhibition game and start the 2014 campaign with a strong record.
