Venom Partner With Special Olympics

Amarillo, TX 3/11/10 - The Amarillo Venom have collaborated with Special Olympics for their home opener March 27th versus Odessa.

For each 12 dollar ticket bought, 4 dollars will go toward the "Area 16" Special Olympics athletes.

"The Venom are helping us continue to provide the athletes year around sports in the Panhandle," commented Area 16 Special Olympics Director Lisa Chrane. "We can't do what we would like to do without the support of the local professional sports teams."

In order to receive this ticket deal, fans may contact Special Olympics at 806.374.7171 or the Venom box office at 806.350.7277. This deal is not available at the Amarillo Civic Center Box Office.

The mission of Special Olympics Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. The Venom's first home game is March 27th at 7pm in the Amarillo Civic Center.
