Amarillo, TX 7/2/10- Amarillo Venom (2) will compete against the Arkansas Diamonds (3) for the third and final time this season in the second round of the playoffs this Saturday at 7:05PM CST in the Amarillo Civic Center.

Amarillo (12-3) won their first round playoff game against Odessa last week 56-36. The Venom defense leads the IFL with 28 interceptions and defensive back Cashmin Thomas is ranked second with eight total interceptions for 128 yards. Wide receiver Alex Watson leads the Venom offense in receiving touchdowns (12 total) for 548 yards this season. Amarillo has scored 51.6 points per game while Arkansas has scored 38 points per game.

Arkansas (12-3) will enter Venom territory again where their only road loss of the season took place (35-20). Running back AJ Harris and wide receiver Eric Ware each had one receiving touchdown and one rushing touchdown last week against Corpus Christi. The Diamonds lead the IFL with the least amount of points allowed per game (28.6) as well as the least amount of overall points against (452). Both teams match-up closely and will battle it out on the turf to break the tied series.
