
Vegas Remains Undefeated Taking Down Winless San Antonio

The Vegas Knight Hawks defeated the San Antonio Gunslingers 66-44 Friday evening at Lee's Family Forum. Ja'Rome Johnson found the end zone seven times as the Knight Hawks improved to 3-0 on the season.
The Knight Hawks were first on the board with a touchdown from quarterback Ja'Rome Johnson. Kevin Macias made his first kick of the game, extending Vegas' lead to 7-0.
San Antonio tied it 7-7 with under five minutes left in the quarter. Sam Castronova found NyQwan Murray in the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown to bring the Gunslingers even.
Johnson put the Knight Hawks back in front with his second rushing touchdown of the game, his sixth of the season. Macias, again, nailed the extra point to make it 14-7.
Vegas added their first rouge of the game to make it 15-7 with three minutes to go in the first quarter.
Keyshawn Harper added a rushing touchdown for San Antonio late in the first quarter. With a good kick from Stevens, he brought the Gunslingers within one.
But with just six seconds left in the quarter, Caleb Holley carried the ball nine yards into the end zone, putting Vegas back in the lead.
The Knight Hawks started the second quarter with their second rouge of the game to extend their lead to nine points.
Castronova answered with 11:05 left in the second quarter. He found Murray with a 16-yard pass for their second touchdown connection of the game, bringing San Antonio back to within two points.
The Gunslingers added a deuce midway through the second quarter to tie the game at 23-23.
Johnson found CJ Windham for his second touchdown of the year to return the lead to Vegas, making it 30-23 in favor of Vegas.
Johnson added his third touchdown of the game with a 12-yard rush to give the Knight Hawks a 13-point lead.
After a scoreless five minutes to start the third quarter, San Antonio got back on the board as Castronova found Harper for their second touchdown of the game to make it 36-30 in favor of the Knight Hawks.
Quentin Randolph, who leads Vegas in receiving touchdowns this season, responded with a 10-yard rushing touchdown to put the Knight Hawks back up by 12 points.
Harper earned his third touchdown of the game, making it 42-37 with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Castronova.
Johnson then found Windham for a 32-yard touchdown, his second-longest pass of the year, to put the Knight Hawks up by 12 points once more.
Castronova continued a back-and-forth third quarter with a rushing touchdown of his own to cut Vegas' lead to just five points.
Wimbush caught the Knight Hawks' eighth touchdown of the game to re-extend the team's lead. Johnson then found Woodrush undefended in the end zone to complete the two-point conversion, making it a 57-44 game early in the fourth quarter.
Johnson found Holley with a 36-yard touchdown after a turnover on downs, widening the gap between Vegas and San Antonio to 20 points. Macias added another rouge to conclude the game with a final score of 66-44.
The Knight Hawks will return to the field on Saturday, April 20, as they take on the Jacksonville Sharks on the road.
