Tri-City ValleyCats News Release

The Tri-City ValleyCats pushed back the fall for a night as Ian Walters doubled in Dylan Broderick, who doubled in the previous at-bat, in the top of the ninth on the way to a 9-7 win over the New York Boulders on September 1.

Ranko Stevanovic doubled in three runs in the top of the first and RJ Stinson followed that up with a three run triple in the top of the fourth. The ValleyCats scored on wild pitch in the top of the eighth. Then Walters drove in Broderick before Walters came home on a Brodie Kresser bunt single in the ninth.

Stinson's triple was the ValleyCats' Frontier League-leading 26th of the season.

Matt Polk 2-for-5 with a home run for New York (51-45) as the Boulders fight for playoff positioning.

Adam Brouwer and Aaron Makil each had a strikeout on the mound through the first seven innings for Tri-City. Noel Soto had a scoreless eighth before Wyatt Cameron came on for his 11th save of the season.

The ValleyCats (38-57) have two more with the Boulders before a weekend series at Sussex County to finish off the 2026 season.
