
ValleyCats Fall to Scrappers 16-4 in Series Finale

TROY, N.Y. - The Tri-City ValleyCats lost to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers 16-4 Monday afternoon at Joe Bruno Stadium after taking the first two games of the series.
Second baseman Jeffery Hehr picked up five hits and Todd Martin knocked his sixth homerun of the season. Third baseman Craig Corrado led the 'Cats with three hits, but it wasn't enough to beat the Scrappers in the series finale. Victor Garate pitched two perfect innings in relief in the defeat.
The ValleyCats now head to Batavia for three games (July 17-19) and then to Brooklyn for three (July 20-22). The 'Cats return home on Tuesday, July 24th for a six game homestand with the Auburn Doubledays and Staten Island Yankees. The first 1,500 fans in attendance on July 24th will receive a Jeff Bagwell Statue presented by Trustco Bank.
