Utah Royals FC News Release
SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC returns to competition and begins its 2020 National Women's Soccer League Fall Series campaign on Sunday, September 20 at Providence Park against Portland Thorns FC. The game is slated to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. MT and can be watched live on Twitch.
Sunday's match will be the first time this year that the two sides will face one another. The last time they met was over a year ago in a thrilling 1-0 victory for Utah Royals FC at Rio Tinto Stadium on September 6, 2019.
When facing Portland, URFC has a 1-2-3 record, with one win and two draws in the 2019 season. Last year Utah was one of only two teams Portland failed to beat, the other being OL Reign. Sunday's match will be the first time defender Elizabeth Ball will face her former club, having joined Utah from the Thorns earlier this year in exchange for former captain Becky Sauerbrunn.
