
Utah Royals FC Signs Midfielder Chestley Strother

SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC has signed midfielder Chestley Strother, adding depth to the midfield ahead of the 2020 National Women's Soccer League season. Per league policy terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"Chestley has spent the last few years developing in Sweden and we are excited to have her in Utah bringing some height and athleticism to our midfield," General Manager Stephanie Lee said.
Strother, 25, comes to Utah after playing several seasons overseas in both Iceland and Sweden. Most recently the midfielder was with Sundvall DFF in Sweden's Division 1. The year prior Strother recorded seven assists in 10 appearances for Kvarnsveden IK in the top flight of professional women's soccer in Sweden.
In Iceland, Strother played for UMF Sindri, scoring 13 goals in 20 matches in 2017.
Strother spent her college years at the University of Texas at Tyler where she finished her four-year career with 32 assists, 27 goals, 276 shots and 86 points in 74 games for the Patriots. Following college Strother spent a brief time in the NWSL as a practice player for the Houston Dash.
Utah Royals FC is preparing for the start of its third season in the National Women's Soccer League. The club narrowly missed the postseason in each of its first two seasons and was second in the league in attendance both years.
