SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC MF Desiree Scott has been named to the Canada Women's National Team by Head Coach Kenneth Heiner-Møller for an invitational tournament hosted by No. 17-ranked China.

Should she be named to the roster, fellow Royals FC teammate DF Katie Bowen and New Zealand will also participate in the four-team tournament, while Brazil will round out the quartet. The winners of the two matches will play for the championship, while the other two teams will take part in a third-place match.

Scott has made 148 appearances in her nearly decade-long international career, most recently she traveled to Japan for an international friendly in which Canada fell 4-0 on October 5. The midfielder made her Canadian first team debut on February, 24, 2010 in the 2-1 victory over Switzerland in the 2010 Cyprus Women's Cup.

Scott just completed her second season with Utah Royals FC during which she made 17 appearances in the midfielder for Head Coach Laura Harvey.
