Utah Royals FC News Release

SANDY, UT - Utah Royals FC (7-7-7, 28 pts., NWSL 6th place) kick off a two-game road trip Saturday in New Jersey, facing winless Sky Blue FC (0-14-4, 4 pts., 9th place) in a must-win game as the gold-clad Utah side looks to keep its inaugural season playoff hopes alive. Saturday's match begins at 4:30 p.m. MT, with the NWSL digital feed available locally via the KSL 5 TV app and KSL.com.

These teams have met twice previously this season, with Utah winning both meetings, including a 2-1 win at Yurcak Field on the Rutgers University campus back on June 2. URFC FW Diana Matheson slid home the visitors' go-ahead goal in the 3rd minute, but Sky Blue equalized through Shea Groom minutes later. Ultimately, it was a redirection of a Gunny Jonsdottir ball from the wing that resulted in an 85th-minute own goal for Sky Blue, giving Utah the full three points.

On June 30, Utah secured a dominant 3-1 win over SBFC, with FW Christen Press scoring her first for Royals FC just seven minutes into the lone home meeting between the teams, the USWNT star then providing an assist on the first of two Katie Stengel goals as Utah raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead. Sky Blue's Carli Lloyd pulled one back in the 62nd minute, the game finishing at 3-1 for Utah.

Utah Royals FC - unbeaten in three of its last four games - continues its inaugural season "Playoff Push" Wednesday night at Washington. HC Laura Harvey's team needs another six-point week in order to remain in contention for a playoff berth, as the club chases Chicago, Portland and Orlando for one of the final spots.

Tickets for Saturday's 2018 regular-season finale against Chicago - in what could be a "win-or-go-home" contest - are now available at www.UtahRoyalsFC.com/Tickets or by calling 844.REAL.TIX.
