USL Championship Board of Governors Votes to Return to Play in 2020

TAMPA - Following a USL Championship Board of Governors vote today, FC Tulsa and the rest of the league has been approved to return to play in 2020 with a provisional start date of July 11. Additional information will be announced in the coming weeks about league format, number of matches, broadcast details and end date.

The news comes after a USL Championship delay that has now stretched 84 days since the league suspended the season on March 12.

"We are incredibly excited about a definitive return to play in 2020," said FC Tulsa president James Cannon. "Speaking for us at FC Tulsa, we were determined to find a route that would allow us to play this season. We're back."

In its statement, the USL Championship made clear that the league's return to play will be conducted in alignment with local and state health and safety guidelines. The league will also remain in conversation with its players in regards to player health and safety.
