TAMPA, FL - United Soccer Leagues announced Tuesday the Week 10 Teams of the Week, honoring Puerto Rico's Petter Villegas, Long Island's Moussa Sy, Westchester's Charles Altcheck and Charlotte's Kelly Wilson-Schmedes as the Players of the Week. The U16 San Juan SC Boys and U17 Edmonton Clippers Girls were honored as the Super Y-League Clutch Team Performances of the Week.

Puerto Rico Islanders midfielder Petter Villegas recorded his first two goals of the season this week, adding an assist as Puerto Rico lost a close match 2-1 to the second-place Vancouver Whitecaps before defeating the USL First Division-leading Richmond Kickers handily 3-1.

In the Wednesday night matchup against the Whitecaps, Villegas notched the Islanders only goal in the 34th minute. Against the run of play, Edivaldo Da Silva's free kick was tapped short to Villegas who blasted an unstoppable 25-yard shot into the upper right corner of the goal.

Then on Friday night, Villegas opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game as his thunderous shot from 35 yards out curved out of the reach of Kickers goalkeeper Ronnie Pascale. Then in the 58th minute, Villegas turned provider as Corey Woolfolk took his pass in the box and converted the chance to make the score 3-1 and seal the Islanders fourth win of the season.

The Esmereldas, Ecuador native played five seasons in MLS (1996, 1999-2002) with the MetroStars and DC United logging over 7,500 minutes while amassing 15 goals and 26 assists.

On Saturday, Rough Riders forward Moussa Sy unloaded for four goals against the Northern Virginia Royals, jumping into the team lead for points with 13 on six goals and one assist.

In the 52nd minute, with Long Island looking at a 1-0 deficit, Sy started his scoring clinic as he took a Shaun Higgins pass in the box and one-touched it past the Royals ‘keeper. Just two minutes later, Sy converted a Wilmer Cabrera corner for the 2-1 lead.

Sy wasn't done yet as in the 82nd minute as he scored a natural hat trick with his 18 yard shot into the top left corner. Finally, with three minutes left in the game his fourth and final goal came on a tap-in as Derrick Etienne used some fancy footwork to shake his defender before passing the ball to Sy for the open shot from 12 yards out.

Sy played for the PDL's New York Freedoms in 1999 where he was the team's second-leading scorer with six goals and seven assists for 19 points. He registered just four goals all of last season with the Rough Riders and three with the club as a member of the USL First Division in 2001.

The Northeast Division's last-place Westchester Flames drubbed the Rhode Island Stingrays 5-0 for their third win of the season Saturday courtesy of Player of the Week Charles Altcheck's four-goal performance.

The 20-year old started things off just two minutes in on an assist from Dwight Barnett, who set up all four of Altcheck's goals. The game remained 1-0 through the half and after a goal from defender Oliver Gonzales in the 54th, he struck for a natural hat-trick to finish the game, scoring in the 64th, 69th and 74th minutes.

A member of the US Women's National Team earlier in the year, Charlotte's Kelly Wilson-Schmedes was not among those called up for the friendly versus Canada Sunday, and it proved beneficial for the Eagles as she led the team to a pair of road wins with five goals.

She started the weekend off with a hat-trick in Richmond in a 3-1 victory. Tina Murphy found her 10 minutes in for the opening marker, which was answered less than a minute later to level the game at 1-1. But Wilson-Schmedes tallied three minutes before the break to take the lead and added an insurance goal in the 76th to lock up the win.

The next night she score the first two goals of a four win over the Carolina Dynamo. Ashley Swinehart connected with Wilson-Schmedes in the 10th and 32nd minutes to set the tone in the win. The brace gave her five goal on the season with an assist.

The San Juan SC U16 Boys are quickly making up ground in the Pacific, posting a 2-1 win at home over second-place San Francisco United SC Sunday. Wesley Clay scored both goals in the win while the team's only goal allowed was a penalty kick conversion by Efrain Burgos.

The Edmonton Clippers U17 Girls opened their season with a two-win outing. They opened the weekend with a 3-0 win over Abbotsford Fraser Valley before falling to the division-leading Whitecaps Saturday 3-1. The team rebounded for another win over Abbotsford Sunday with Heather Lund, Ashley MacWhirter and Krystal Graham scoring.
