Lucky 13
...It took a little more than two seasons, but the Tri-City Storm picked up their first-ever win over the Fargo Force when they captured a 4-3 win on Friday. The Storm were 0-10-2 in their first 12 attempts against the Force, but the 13th meeting went the Storm's way. After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, the Storm scored the next four goals. Shane Walsh started things off with his first career USHL goal. Brad Schierhorn and Matt Johnson also tallied before Darik Angeli netted the eventual game-winner.
Bucs On a Streak
...After a pair of home victories, the Des Moines Buccaneers have pushed their winning streak to four games and have earned a point in five straight contests (4-0-1). The Bucs have lost just once in regulation this season and four of their last five games have been decided by a single goal. Goaltender Michael Shibrowski has started each game during the four-game win streak. He allowed just three goals combined in the two victories over the weekend. Dan DeSalvo had multi-point games (1g, 3a) in the two victories this week, including the game-winning goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over Cedar Rapids. Mike Montagna is riding a five-game point streak (3g, 6a), including multiple points in each of the last four contests.
On the Home Front
...An offensive outburst on Saturday kept the Sioux Falls Stampede unbeaten on home ice (5-0-0), the only USHL team with a perfect home mark. The team had a season high in goals during the 8-4 win over Youngstown and has outscored their opponents 26-11 in Sioux Falls this season. Matt Tabrum notched a hat trick on Saturday while Christian Isackson collected five points (1g, 4a), which equaled a League season high for points and assists in a game this season. After being held scoreless in his first seven USHL games, Bryan Moore had a three-point game (1g, 2a). Ryan Jacobson (2g, 1a) and Kyle Rau (3a) also had three-point efforts.
Short Stuff

Hats Off
...Indiana Ice forward Peter Schneider netted a hat trick on Friday, scoring three of his team's four goals in the 7-4 loss to Cedar Rapids. It is one of four hat tricks in the USHL this season. Schneider has three multi-goal games this season and now leads the League with eight total goals. Schneider is playing on a line with Brian Ferlin and Blake Coleman and despite being held scoreless on Saturday, the trio has combined for 18 points (8g, 10a) over the last four games.
Firing Range
...Team USA and the Muskegon Lumberjacks combined for 98 shots on goal in Saturday's matchup. The 50 shots by Team USA's Under-18 squad were the most in the USHL this season. Fifteen skaters in the contest tallied four-or-more shots on goal, including Team USA forward Tyler Biggs who fired a game high nine shots on his way to scoring two goals. His nine shots equaled a USHL season high.

What They are Saying...
"It's nice to get the win. I thought it was a sloppy game a bit on our behalf. Bottom line is we found a way to get the win, and it's nice to break that goose egg against them"
