USA Hockey Arena Named Host of 2016 USHL Draft

The United States Hockey League announced today that the 2016 Phase I Draft will take place at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI on May 2, 2016 at 7:00 PM (EST). Phase I of the 2016 USHL Draft consists of ten (10) rounds as USHL teams select players from the 2000 birth year. The event will be open to the public, as well as youth hockey teams and their families are encouraged to view the USHL Draft live at USA Hockey Arena's CJ's Brewing Company. CCM Hockey, the official equipment provider of the USHL, will be giving away prizes as well.

For the fifth consecutive year, Phase I picks will be announced on a live USHL Draft Show on USHL.com. In addition to the official announcement of Phase I selections, the USHL Draft Show will have exclusive interviews with players, USHL coaches and more.

During the 2015-16 season more than 40 USHL Phase I Draft picks played in their first season of eligibility including Eeli Tolvanen (Sioux City Musketeers), Shane Bowers (Waterloo Black Hawks), Brannon McManus (Omaha Lancers) and Ryan Poehling (Lincoln Stars).

Following Monday's USHL Phase I Draft, teams will participate in the USHL Phase II Draft in which teams can select players between the 1996 and 2000 birth years. The Phase II Draft results will be published live on USHL.com beginning at 9:00 AM (EST).
