Soo Indians News Release
April 8, 2004-US National forward John Kemp scored the game-winning goal just 2:10 into overtime to down the Indians 4-3 in Game #3, to stake the Nationals to a 2-1 playoff series lead. Despite the Indians rally from behind to tie the game and sending it into overtime after trailing 3-1 after the 1st period, the Indians regular season overtime woes continued into the playoffs. The Indians lost their 2nd straight overtime game to the US National Team.
April 9, 2004--The Indians desire to force a decisive Game #5, was overshadowed by the US National team's drive to upset the #1 seeded Kewadin Casino Indians on home ice in Game #4. The Nationals routed the Indians by a 7-1 score, marking the Indians worst defeat of the season, and most heartbreaking. What was suppose to be a playoff run to the National Tournament, ended in utter disappointment after USA eliminated the Indians, by winning 3-of-4 games in the NAHL's 1st round best-of-5-game playoff series.
