Ozarks Springbirds News Release
The Springfield Cardinals are teaming up with Three Dog Bakery for "Dine With Your Dog at the Ballpark". The event will take place on Thursday, September 18th, from 6pm to 9pm at Hammons Field and will benefit the Southwest Missouri Humane Society.
"Dine With Your Dog" will include a "Yappy" Hour for dogs and their owners, a Dinner Buffet for dogs and their owners, as well as a Silent Auction for autographed game-used bats or a Cardinals 2009 VIP Experience. The VIP Experience includes four tickets for a 2009 home game, four Cardinals caps, a pre-game tour, an 8 x 10 of your group on the field before the game, a meet-and-greet with players for autographs and photos, as well as food and soft drinks for the entire game.
Dogs and their owners can have their picture taken with Fetch from the Springfield Cardinals, enjoy special guest speakers and play on the field throughout the evening.

2008 St. John's Sunshine Run
The 29th Annual St. John's Sunshine Run will again be taking place at Hammons Field on October 10th and 11th. This two-day event will feature a pre-race pasta dinner at Gilardi's with former Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Jenner as the scheduled guest speaker!

TEXAS LEAGUE PLAYOFF UPDATE
The Arkansas Travelers got a three-run double off the bat of Hank Conger in the bottom of the eighth inning, as the Travs took a 1-0 lead in the Texas League Championship Series, with a 3-0 win over the Frisco RoughRiders on Tuesday night. Read the game-one recap by clicking the link below.

Frisco won the season-long series over Arkansas, going 8-4 vs the Travs in 2008.
The RoughRiders will be looking for their second Texas League Championship in just their second Finals appearance. They won the crown in just their second season in the Texas League, back in 2004.
Arkansas is searching for their sixth title since they entered the league in 1966. The Travs haven't won a Texas League title since 2001 and lost their last appearance in 2005, when the Midland RockHounds defeated them in four games.
