United Indoor Football Week Nine Review

Omaha, NE - Week nine of the United Indoor Football season is in the books. This weekend's games kept the conference races close as the home teams won every game. The Ice clipped the Outlaws, the Beef beat the Wild, the Extreme edged the Rage and the Storm defeated the Bandits.

COLORADO 39, BILLINGS 37

At Loveland, CO

The Colorado Ice clipped the Billings Outlaws 39-37 Friday evening at the Budweiser Events Center at the Ranch. Colorado was led by quarterback Ryan Clement and linebacker Ryan Palmer. Clement completed 12 of 21 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns; he added a rushing touchdown. Palmer led Colorado with a team-high 8.5 tackles and also had a tackle for loss. The Outlaws were led by quarterback Chris Dixon and defensive lineman Eugene Phillips. Dixon completed 23 of 34 passes for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Phillips tied for the team lead in tackles with five and also contributed two tackles for loss and two sacks. In week 10, the Ice welcome the Wichita Wild to the Budweiser Events Center and the Outlaws will host Bloomington to Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark.

OMAHA 67, WICHITA 16

At Omaha, NE

The Omaha Beef beat the Wichita Wild 67-16 Saturday evening at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Omaha was led by quarterback James McNear and a solid defensive effort. McNear tallied 85 yards of total offense (nine rushing and 76 passing) and had a hand in five touchdowns (two rushing and three passing). The defense tallied nine tackles for loss and three sacks. In addition, they forced three fumbles (recovering two), intercepted six passes and broke up five more. The Wild were led by quarterback Efi Eyo and linebacker Earl Henry. Eyo tallied 53 yards of total offense (24 rushing and 29 passing) and one touchdown (to Donald Payne). Henry made a team-high eight tackles (two TFL) and also forced a fumble. In week 10, the Beef head south to Sioux City to play the Bandits while the Wild head west to Colorado to play the Ice.

BLOOMINGTON 51, RIVERCITY 42

At Bloomington, IL

The Bloomington Extreme edged the RiverCity Rage 51-42 Saturday evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Bloomington was led by linebacker Blue Aldridge and quarterback Dusty Burk. Aldridge made a team-high 8.5 tackles and also broke up two passes. Burk had 231 yards of total offense (51 rushing and 180 passing) and also threw for five touchdowns. The Rage were led by defensive back Ron Rockett and quarterback Steve Rush. Rockett made a team-high 6.5 tackles and also broke up a pass. Rush had 164 yards of total offense (42 rushing and 132 passing) and a hand in three of the Rage's touchdowns (one rushing and two passing). In week 10, the Extreme head west to face Billings while RiverCity also heads west, to play Sioux Falls.

SIOUX FALLS 51, SIOUX CITY 46

At Sioux Falls, SD

The Sioux Falls Storm defeated the Sioux City Bandits 51-46 Saturday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. Leading the way for the Storm were quarterback Terrance Bryant and their defense. Bryant completed 15 of 21 passes for 144 yards and four touchdowns. The Storm's defense tallied seven tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions. In addition, they also forced and recovered a fumble and broke up three passes. The Bandits were led by quarterback Chad Kapanui and defensive lineman Letarius Lee. Kapanui completed 16 of 29 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for three touchdowns. Lee tied for the team lead with four tackles while also forcing a fumble, made a sack and also blocked a kick. In week 10, the Storm host the RiverCity Rage to the Sioux Falls Arena and the Bandits welcome Omaha to the Tyson Events Center.
