UIF Week Six Preview

April 26, 2007 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF) News Release

Omaha, NE - In week six, Colorado will look to knock RiverCity off their undefeated path, while the other undefeated team, the Sioux Falls Storm, have a bye. The Extreme will look to build on a solid clutch performance last week and the Horsemen will strive to stay above 500, meeting the league's number one offense in the Raptors, who will be trying to get above 500.

EVANSVILLE BLUECATS (1-4) at OHIO VALLEY GREYHOUNDS (1-3)

In week two the Bluecats came out winners 47-24 against the Greyhounds. The BlueCats had to turn to Ton-Ton Luzayadio in that one, who went 4-5 on field goals. On defense, the BlueCats had a big game from Ladrelle Bryant and Johnny Brown, who each had two sacks. For the Greyhounds' defense, Stephen Agyeman was all over the field with 11.5 total tackles and one interception. Kickoff is Saturday night, 7:00 p.m. EDT at Wesbanco Arena.

LEXINGTON HORSEMEN (3-2) at ROCK RIVER RAPTORS (2-2)

Lexington's Kewan Drewberry had another solid performance last week in Bloomington, going 21-29 for 209 yards, and Jamal Naji had 2.5 TFL for 12 yards and one sack. The Raptors have the league's best scoring offense, pass offense, and turnover margin. Ben Sankey is the only quarterback with over 1,000 passing yards and averages almost 270 passing yards per game. The Raptors are +8 in the turnover margin with nine interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Kickoff is at 7:05 p.m.CDT Saturday at MetroCentre in Rockford, IL.

SIOUX CITY BANDITS (1-3) at BILLINGS OUTLAWS (0-4)

Last week, Brent Rawls left the Bandits, leaving the team to wonder who would take over. Craig Fobbe and Ricco Watkins went a combine 8-19 with three touchdown passes and 115 yards. With some key players leaving after last season, the Outlaws are in a slump, but the leadership of Eugene Phillips, Jeremiah Cockeran and Chris Dixon could pull together for a win this week. This will be the first meeting between the Bandits and Outlaws in the UIF. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. MDT Saturday at MetraPark Arena in Billings, MT.

RIVERCITY RAGE (5-0) at COLORADO ICE (3-2)

RiverCity enters week six with a 46-39 victory against the Ice in week three. The Ice enter with a huge 39-32 home win against the Beef last week. The Rage defense has been a big topic this season and if they can fluster Ryan Clement as they did last time they met, it should be a good day for the Rage. On the other side, the Ice defense is allowing an average of 32.8 points per game, second only to the Storm's 29.4. Kickoff at Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO, will be at 7:05 p.m. MDT Saturday.

BLOOMINGTON EXTREME (1-3) at OMAHA BEEF (3-2)

The Extreme's late winning drive last week should give them a lift in week six, but Omaha's steady play and tough home crowd will bring rough conditions. Glenn Johnson returned to the Extreme last week, picking up two touchdowns, as did Dusty Burk who passed for 133 yards with three touchdowns and two rushing TDs. The Beef offensive line needs to protect as McNear was sacked four times in week five. Saturday's kickoff at the "Slaughterhouse" Omaha Civic Auditorium is set for 7:05 p.m. CDT.
