
UIF Play-off Picture Taking Shape

Omaha, NE - United Indoor Football is pleased to announce the scheduled dates for the 2005 play-offs. Eight teams will participate in the first round of the playoffs, held on the weekend of July 30. Two semi-final contests are scheduled for the weekend of August 6. And the first-ever UIF championship game will be held on the weekend of August 13.
Eight teams will be featured in the UIF's inaugural season play-offs. The eight qualifying teams will be seeded according to overall winning percentage. The number one seed will be matched up against the number eight seed, two with seven, three with six, and four with five. The team with the best winning percentage in each contest will be scheduled to host in each round.
Tie-breakers will be applied in the following order: 1.) overall winning percentage, 2.) head-to-head record, 3.) average point differential per game, 4.) average points scored per game, 5.) average points allowed per game, and 6.) coin flip.
United Indoor Football has set the trade deadline for July 11 at 5:00 p.m. CT. All trades must be submitted and approved by then, and no trades will be allowed after the deadline. The roster deadline for play-off qualifying teams is Thursday, July 15, at 5:00 p.m. CT. All teams will be set with protected 30-man rosters. No players may be added to team rosters following the July 15 deadline.
If the play-offs started today, the Midwest Division champion Fort Wayne Freedom (11-2) would earn the top seed. The North Division champion Sioux City Bandits (11-2) would be given the second seed as the Freedom defeated the Bandits earlier this season. The third seed would be the South Division champion Lexington Horsemen (9-4). The forth seed is projected to be the Omaha Beef (7-5). The Ohio Valley Greyhounds (6-5) would be awarded the fifth seed. The sixth seed would be the Sioux Falls Storm (7-6). The Evansville Bluecats (6-6) would be the seventh seed. The final and eight seed would go to the Tennessee Valley Raptors (4-8).
