UIF Names Week 14 Players of the Week

Omaha, NE: Harry Lewis, Brock Dodrill and Billy Cook have all been honored by the UIF for their efforts in Week 14 as the Players of the Week. Lewis (LEX) lead the Horsemen offense over the Peoria Rough Riders and takes the Offensive award. Dodrill was the leader of the Greyhounds defense this past weekend, but his team came up short as they lost in a last second battle to the Freedom. Lastly, Billy Cook has been awarded the Special Teams award for his game winning kick-off return in the final seconds of the match-up to lead the Raptors to victory.

Harry Lewis led the Lexington Horsemen (11-2) this past weekend to a victory over the Peoria Rough Riders (0-13) by a score of 52-17. Lewis (WR) caught six passes for an amazing 116-yards and had three touchdowns as well. He also had a couple plays throwing the ball as well, as he completed 2 of 3 passes for 22-yards. Lewis also rushed one time for 2-yards. On the season, Lewis is third in both receiving yards per game (61.3) and in receptions a game with 4.92. He has totaled 18 touchdowns on the season which ranks him fifth in the league. The Horsemen offense ranks first in scoring offense and total offense out of the ten team league, and are in the top three in nearly every statistical category. Next week the Horsemen face the Ft. Wayne Freedom (4-9) in War Memorial Stadium in Ft. Wayne.

Taking down the Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, is Ohio Valley Greyhound (6-7) linebacker, Brock Dodrill. Dodrill made seven solo tackles and three assisted for a total of 8.5 on the night. He also had one pass breakup as well. On the season Brock leads the league in total tackles with 115.0, with 89 solo and 52 assisted for an average of 8.8 a game. Dodrill has already broken the UIF's record for most tackles in a season, currently held by Connie Brown of the Evansville BlueCats who has 107.0 last season. Next week the Greyhounds will host the BlueCats (6-7) at Wes Banco Arena in Wheeling, W.V.

Billy Cook returned a 43-yard kick for the Rock River Raptors (9-4) for a touchdown leaving only five second left in the game and gave the Raptors a 37-33 win over the Bloomington Extreme (5-8) this past weekend. On the night, Cook returned three kicks for a total of 76-yards. He also had one solo tackle on the night. This win helped secure the Raptors a playoff seed in the top three and now will head to Peoria (0-13) next weekend to play at the Carver Arena for the first time this season.

Taking honorable mention for Week 14 were: Offense, Matt Kohn (OVG); Defense, Austin Flyger (SFS); and Special Teams, Ton-Ton Luzayadio (EVA).
