IRVINE, Calif. - After an impressive career with the UCLA Bruins, midfielder Grady Howe has signed his first professional contract with Orange County Blues FC.

"I couldn't be happier to sign with the OC Blues," said Howe. "The professional training environment, coaching staff, and facilities are all top notch. Since I grew up in Orange County, I will wear the jersey with a lot of pride. I am excited to give everything I have to contribute to the success of the team and to help win the USL Championship."

A native of Newport Beach, CA, Howe attended Corona del Mar High School. The midfielder had an outstanding youth career in Southern California. He played with the LA Galaxy Youth Academy, where he won the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U-15/16 Championship back in 2011. He also helped his team win the Generation Adidas Cup Championship, composed of all MLS youth academy teams.

Howe made an immediate impact with UCLA, starting every game his freshman year and being named UCLA Rookie of the Year. Always staying fit and healthy, Howe would go to play in 83 out of 84 possible matches during his tenure on the Westwood campus. In 2014, he was named the UCLA Scholar Athlete of the Year and was named team captain for his senior season in 2015.

"We're very excited to welcome Grady to the OC Blues," said Head Coach and General Manager Oliver Wyss. "Grady had an outstanding career at UCLA and we believe he will excel at the professional level as well."

Howe will join a strong OC Blues midfield, that already includes Pavle Popara, Christian Silva, Chino Santana, and Nikki Ilich.
