U.S. MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TO FACE OCEANIA CHAMPION NEW ZEALAND AT HISTORIC RFK STADIUM ON OCT. 11 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
First Friendly Between the Teams Since 2003 Would Be Last Match Before Start of Final Round Qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup
CHICAGO- For only the third time in their history, the U.S. Men's National Team will face Oceania champion New Zealand when the teams meet Oct. 11 in Washington, D.C. Kickoff at historic RFK Stadium is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN Networks and UniMás. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. ET through ussoccer.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout the Washington-Baltimore-Northern Virginia area (including many Walmart locations). [Note: Tickets are not sold at RFK Stadium except on the day of the event.]

Should the U.S. advance through the Semifinal Round of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying, the New Zealand test will be the team's last before the start of the Hexagonal, the final round of qualifying, which begins Nov. 11.
The U.S. has won both previous meetings against the Kiwis with matching 2-1 scorelines. The last contest came on June 8, 2003 in Richmond, Va., the USA's final match before the start of the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup .
RFK will host the MNT for the 24th time, the most of any venue in the world. In the previous 23 matches, the United States has posted a 15-3-5 record with an average attendance of 33,876 fans.
In the USA's last match in the nation's capital, two goals by Jozy Altidore paced the MNT to a 2-1 against Peru on Sept. 4 of last year.
Having finished fourth in the historic Copa America Centenario, the U.S. continues the Semifinal Round Qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sept. 2 against St. Vincent and the Grenadines (3:30 p.m. ET; beIN SPORTS). The MNT closes out group play Sept. 6 when they host Trinidad & Tobago with kickoff at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. set for 8 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on FS1 and the Univision Networks [TICKETS].
