Tyler Sheehan Named 2011 CIFL MVP

Cincinnati, Ohio - For the second straight season, the quarterback for the Continental Indoor Football League Champion Cincinnati Commandos, has been named the league's most valuable player. Tyler Sheehan was tabbed as the CIFL MVP, after throwing 37 touchdown passes and running for seven more scores. In addition, Sheehan also was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the CIFL. Sheehan follows former Commandos and University of Cincinnati quarterback Ben Mauk, who was the 2010 CIFL MVP.

The Commandos completed an undefeated season, as Sheehan started 10 of the 12 games. Sheehan led all CIFL signal callers in average yards passing per game (173), touchdown passes (34) while throwing just nine interceptions. Sheehan's passer rating was a league best 101.5% and he was also tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Week twice during the CIFL season.

A product of LaSalle High School in Cincinnati and a record-setting signal caller at Bowling Green State University, Sheehan led the Commandos to the first-ever back-to-back championships in the CIFL. The Commandos defeated the Marion Blue Racers 44-29 in the CIFL Championship game on June 12 at the Cincinnati Gardens, in which Sheehan was named the games MVP.
