Two Sooners Headed Cross-Country to Bellingham

February 21, 2019 - West Coast League (WCL) - Bellingham Bells News Release

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Bellingham Bells are excited to announce the addition of two more players to their 2019 roster. A pair of University of Oklahoma Sooners, left-handed pitcher Will Dennis and outfielder Jordan Vujovich, will join the Bells this summer.

Dennis begins his freshman year in Norman as part of the Sooners' No. 12 ranked recruiting class, per College Baseball News.

The six-foot-four-inch Overland Park, Kan. native prepped at Blue Valley Northwest High School where he was an All-East Kansas League selection his senior year.

"Will is a talented left-handed pitcher with a strong athletic build," Bells manager Bob Miller said. "He has shown a 90 mph fastball and quality secondary pitches, and we expect Will to be a solid contributor to our Bells pitching staff."

Dennis was rated as the No. 2 left-handed pitcher in Kansas, the No. 3 overall recruit in the state and the No. 50 overall left-handed pitching recruit in the nation according to Perfect Game.

Vujovich, who hails from Sacramento, Calif., starts his first year at Oklahoma after spending last season at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, Calif.

"Jordan brings a quality left-handed bat to our line up," Miller said. "We expect him to hit at the top of our order and play solid defense."

At San Joaquin, the six-foot Vujovich hit .310 with six homeruns and 42 RBIs. He also scored 54 runs and stole 11 bases in 50 games. He was named All-Big 8 and the MVP of the Final Four Tournament after winning a California Community College Athletic Association state title with the Mustangs.

"We are excited to have Will and Jordan join us this summer," Miller said. "They are respected teammates and proven work ethic guys. They should be great in our clubhouse, as well as on the field."

Dennis and Vujovich will kick off their summer with the Bells on June 4 against the Kelowna Falcons at Joe Martin Field.
