
Two Monsters Commit to Colleges

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Monsters announced today that the two senior players from the 2011-2012 North American Hockey League team have committed to colleges for the 2012-2013 season.
Forward Riley Borer has committed to play at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls after spending the last two seasons with the Fresno Monsters. Borer, a native of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, has accumulated 28 goals and 29 assists, good for 57 points in 104 games for the Monsters. He has also accrued 144 penalty minutes.
Defenseman Brett Blomgren has committed to play for Manhattanville College in New York after playing for the Fresno Monsters in the last three seasons. Blomgren, a native of Canyon Country, California, began his junior hockey career with the Fresno Monsters in the Western States Hockey League during the 2009-2010 season. He then went on to play for the Fresno Monsters' expansion North American Hockey League team in the 2010-2011 and the 2011-2012 seasons. In 141 games played in a Fresno Monsters' sweater, Blomgren has accumulated 7 goals, 36 assists for a total of 43 points and 275 penalty minutes.
