NBL Canada London Lightning

Two Arrive Making Five Alive

London Lightning News Release

The London Lightning looked to get back to their winning ways after dropping their first game last Sunday. A familiar foe was in town - the Quebec Kebs - who arrived exactly one week after losing on the road to London on November 10th.

Prior to tip-off, a moment of silence was dedicated to former Kebs player Sam Carey, who passed away earlier this week.

Slow starts had plagued London in their last two home games. This game was no different.

However, 1,774 fans at the John Labatt Centre were treated to a tight contest between Quebec and London.

With the home team clinging to a 5 point lead at the 1 minute mark, Shamari Spears - in his first Lightning game - sank 2 free throws to ice it. He wasn't the only new addition to contribute significantly; Rodney Buford, just acquired from Halifax, scored 19 points and added 10 boards.

The final score was 82-75.

It is a busy time of the year for the Lightning. They head to Oshawa to begin a home and home series with the Power tomorrow night.
