TUSKERS LOSE TWO OFF CAMP ROSTER TO NFL TEAMS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - ORLANDO, FL - THURSDAY, August 5 - With training camp scheduled to open in less than two weeks, the Florida Tuskers announced that two players off their 70-man camp roster were headed to the NFL.
On Thursday, the Tuskers placed offensive linemen Eric Ghiaciuc (6-4, 303) and Renardo Foster (6-5, 330) on their exempt list. Ghiaciuc was signed by the New England Patriots; while Foster was signed by the St. Louis Rams.
The Tuskers were awarded the UFL rights to Ghiaciuc last month. He had 48 games of NFL experience with Cincinnati (2005-08) and San Diego (2009) and also spent time with the Kansas City and Cleveland organizations.
Foster played two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (2007-08), where he appeared in seven NFL games. He also spent time in camp with Rams (2009) and New Orleans Saints (2009). Foster was a standout at the University of Louisville.
"With so much player movement going on with the start of NFL training camp, it wasn't totally unexpected to lose a few players," Player Personnel Director Bret Munsey said. "We will begin to look at our options for camp replacements immediately."
Under league rules, the Tuskers will retain the UFL rights to both players.
