
Tuskers DE Signs with Washington Redskins

ORLANDO, FL - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2010 - Florida Tuskers defensive end DARRION SCOTT has signed with the Washington Redskins, and has been added to the active roster.
Scott re-joined the Tuskers on September 21 after spending 2010 training camp with the Redskins. In seven games during the regular season, Scott started six times at left defensive end and recorded two sacks, two passes defended and six total tackles. In the 2010 UFL Championship Game, Scott again started at left defensive end and had four total tackles, a tackle for loss and added one quarterback hurry.
Scott started the entire 2009 UFL season at left defensive end for the Tuskers. During the regular season, he had 1.5 sacks, 15 total tackles and a half-tackle for loss. In the 2009 UFL Championship Game, Scott recorded five total tackles, a pass breakup, two sacks and two quarterback hurries.
This will be Scott's second NFL stint, having spent four seasons (2004-07) with the Minnesota Vikings. He played in 48 games (28 starts) with the Vikings, totaling 128 tackles and 9.5 sacks.
With the signing, Scot becomes the ninth member of the 2011 Tuskers to sign an NFL contract. He joins DB Keiwan Ratliff, DE Eric Moore, RB Dominic Rhodes, and WR Brian Clark as former Tuskers players to be added to an active NFL roster. Four others have signed NFL practice squad contracts. Those players include TE Jason Pociask (Dallas), LB J Leman (San Diego), WR Maurice Price (Washington) and FB James Develin (Cleveland).
