GLENDALE, AZ (February 24, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Tulsa Oilers forward Ben Gordon has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending February 23, 2014. Tulsa play-by-play broadcaster Rob Loeber recently described Gordon's current run as "the kind of hockey that cannot be described, it can only be admired and applauded".

Gordon had hat tricks in two of the three games he played last week and finished with seven goals and three assists and a +8 plus/minus rating in the three Oilers wins. The Oilers forward is making a serious push for the league Most Valuable Player award carrying his team to an 8-1 record in the month of February while scoring 13 goals with eight assists (21 points) in those nine games. The International Falls, Minnesota native has two hat tricks and a four-goal game in his last seven contests and has been playing at a level that has rarely been seen in the history of the legaue.

The veteran forward has moved up to third in the league in scoring with 73 points (34-39=73) trailing only Denver's Garett Bembridge (81 points) and Troy Schwab (74 points) and Gordon's 34 goals are only one fewer than Bembridge for the goal scoring lead in the CHL.
