Tulsa Shock News Release
TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa Shock guard Riquna Williams passed the 1,000-point career milestone in tonight's game versus Los Angeles. It was the 83rd game of her professional career.
Williams started her third game of the season in relief of the injured Skylar Diggins and had a total of 22 points in the game to lead all Shock scorers. The Sparks won the game 98-95.
Williams is in her fourth season out of the University of Miami (FL). She was drafted by the Shock in the second round of the 2012 WNBA Draft, the 17th-overall selection. She was named to the WNBA All Rookie team that year.
In her second professional season of 2013 she scored 51 points against San Antonio in a road game on September 8 which is still the WNBA record for most points scored in a single game by a player. That season she also averaged a career-high 15.6 points per game and was named the WNBA's Sixth Woman of the Year.
Williams and the Shock play the Sparks tomorrow night, July 3, in Los Angeles. Tip-off is at 9:30 p.m. CST and can be seen on WNBA Live Access.
