Tulsa Shock and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma Partner to Promote Health & Wellness

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa Shock have partnered with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma to present Health and Wellness night this Thursday, July 30 as the Shock take on the Phoenix Mercury at the BOK Center at 7 p.m. Events during the game are focused on raising awareness about fitness, health and well-being.

Mascots Blaze the Braggin' Blue Dragon and Volt the Fox will be helping to hand the first 2,000 fans through the door a Shock team poster, compliments of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma.

"We're excited to be a part of Health and Wellness night with the Tulsa Shock for the fourth straight year," said Ted Haynes, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma President. "It always provides us a great opportunity to reach our local communities and share the importance of health and wellness in our state."

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma will also have a booth on the concourse with promotional items and will host a drawing for a pair of Beats by Dre headphones.

Additionally, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma's Mobile Assistance Center (MAC) unit will be located on the concourse to provide one-on-one assistance with health insurance enrollment, education and customer service education.

"We are thrilled again to be working with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma on promoting important health tips and educating our fans and the community," said Shock President Steve Swetoha.

The Oklahoma Caring Van will be outside the main entrance from 5 to 7 p.m. offering BMI (Body Mass Index) screenings for children from ages two to 18 at no charge. A limited number of complimentary tickets to the game are available to families who participate in the Caring Van clinic.
