Published on June 8, 2010 under Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release
Richmond, Virginia: The Tucson Pro Sports Group out of Arizona has officially announced today that they have put forth, and the league has accepted, a letter of intent to join the Indoor Football League (IFL) for the 2011 season. The group is planning on placing a team in Tucson, Arizona. Members of the ownership group consist of Mario J. Wiggins, Dart Clark, Terri Clark, and Demond Williams.
Having served as a General Manager in the league beforehand, Dart Clark is no stranger to the IFL. Clark is excited about bringing indoor football to Tucson. "[Tucson] is a tremendous city with an amazing University and fans", says Clark. "The city and the whole Southwest region is a great area for football".
IFL Commissioner Tommy Benizio, who has been trying to expand to the Southwest, likes the possibilities this move brings to the league. "There has always been interest in expanding to the area from multiple parties", says Benizio. "This is the first step in bringing football to the Southwest", adds the Commissioner.
A press conference has been announced for Monday, June 14 at 2pm at the Hotel Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. It will serve as an introduction for both the team and the league to the community and local media. For more information on the impending arena team, visit www.Tucsonarenaball.com .
