Florida Tropics SC News Release
Lakeland, FL - The Florida Tropics have resigned goal scorer Guilherme Dos Santos to an additional 3 year deal. Per league policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Dos Santos had 18 goals and 12 assists totaling 30 points for the 2019-2020 season that was cut short due to the corona virus outbreak. He originally signed with the Tropics back in 2017, where he played a defensive roll to fill in the slot of some of the injured veterans of the team at that time. In 2018, he was moved to a forward position where he found great use of his strong left footed "rocket" shot that led to many important goals these past two season.
"Guilherme has been a key asset to our offensive firepower for the past two seasons. He also has a great attitude on and off the field, which is exactly what we are looking for as we continue to build and keep a championship caliber team going into next season," said Head Coach Clay Roberts.
The 2019-2020 regular season was cut short with 2 games remaining, and the league has yet to announce any additional details. The Tropics had a historic season at 18-3 after finishing 6-18 the season prior. More information is to be released in the coming weeks.
