Florida Tropics SC News Release
LAKELAND, Florida - The Florida Tropics, presented by Bond Clinic, will bring the road portion of their 2022-23 regular season to a close this weekend with stops Saturday in Kansas City and Sunday in St. Louis, before coming home to close the year with three straight at the RP Funding Center.
Florida is in a battle with several teams for playoff positioning in the East Division of the Major Arena Soccer League. The top five teams in the division go to the post-season, and Florida is currently in third, with five teams bunched within six points of first place (see standings below).
Teams that finish fourth and fifth will advance to a one-game play in game at the arena of the fourth place team. That winner will advance to the quarterfinals where they will meet the top team, and seeds two and three will matchup in a home-and-home series. If the teams split the two playoff games, a 15-minute knockout game will be held at the immediate conclusion of game two of the series.
Saturday's kickoff in Kansas City will be at 7:05 EDT with Sunday's start in St. Louis set at 4:05 p.m. EDT. Both games will be broadcast live on MASL TV on Twitch.
The Tropics are being led by Ricardo Carvalho who has 17 goals and 11 assists in 17 games this year. Kansas City's offense is being paced by John Sosa who has 12 goals and 18 assists in 19 games. St. Louis' offensive leader is William Eskay with 17 goals and six assists in 19 games.
Florida will finish the regular season with a game on Sunday, March 26 against Utica, followed by a weekend doubleheader against St. Louis on Friday, March 31 and Sunday, April 2, all at the RP Funding Center.
Tickets for all home games are available starting at just $7 per game - which includes all fees -- by calling the RP Funding Center box office at 863-834-8111. Although tickets are also available online at www.rpfundingcenter.com, service fees are significantly higher through Ticketmaster as opposed to calling the box office directly. Tickets are also available on game day at the box office.
