Greenville Triumph SC News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club on Tuesday announced a partnership with Harvest Hope, South Carolina's largest food bank. Opened in 1981 and serving 20 counties across the state, Harvest Hope's mission is to eliminate hunger and food insecurity across the state by rescuing food from stores and distributing it to food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens.

The Greenville Triumph will raise awareness on specific initiatives like the Backpack Program and National Hunger Awareness Month. The club's September 19th match featured a 50/50 raffle to benefit the organization. The Triumph will also become a year-round drop-off location for Harvest Hope, with a donation box located at the club's 22 S. Main St. Team Store.

"Harvest Hope is excited to be partnering with the Greenville Triumph to fight hunger in the Upstate," says Erinn Rowe, Harvest Hope CEO. "September is Hunger Action Month, and what better way to help raise awareness of food insecurity in Greenville County than to begin this new partnership and teach fans how they can take action to build a hunger-free tomorrow in their local communities."

About Harvest Hope: Harvest Hope is building a hunger-free tomorrow in 20 counties across South Carolina, including Greenville and Laurens counties. Rescuing food from stores that is at risk of being discarded, as well as sourcing food from the community and producers, they distribute it to local food pantries and through feeding programs. Programs provide food for some of SC's most vulnerable citizens - children, seniors, and rural residents who don't have access to reliable transportation to grocery stores. Annually, Harvest Hope provides over 22 million meals to neighbors in need across their service area. Learn more at HarvestHope.org.
