ARE YOU MADE OF STEEL? The Trenton Steel will hold an open tryout on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Sun National Bank Center, located at 81 Hamilton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08611.
Registration is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. with on-field workouts starting promptly at 9:00 A.M. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. This tryout will be in pro combine format with each player performing the following workout drills: 40 yd Dash, Short Shuttle, Broad Jump, and position specific drills. All workouts and player interviews will be filmed. Players will be evaluated by the Trenton Steel Coaching staff.
Anyone interested in trying out for the Steel should complete a registration form prior to the workout. The forms, which are tailored for each position, are available at www.trentonsteel.com/tryouts and should be emailed to tryouts@trentonsteel.com when completed. The fee for anyone who pre-registers online will be $40 that can be paid at the tryout in cash or pre-paid on PayPal via credit card (the PayPal link is located at the bottom of this article. Just click "Buy Now"). On-site, registration fee will be $60 payable by cash or money order (NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED).
The tryout will be conducted on artificial turf, so participants are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear. There are no full-contact drills, thus, no need for shoulder pads or helmets. A trainer will be on hand for emergencies only - not for player taping. Players will be provided a Trenton Steel workout shirt and should bring their own equipment such as braces, gloves, etc.
