Trent Cull Named Head Coach Of OHL's Sudbury Wolves

Syracuse, NY (May 11, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that former assistant coach Trent Cull has been named head coach of the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves.

Cull, 36, served as the Crunch's assistant coach for four seasons from 2006-10, helping the club to a cumulative 154-131-15-20 (.540 winning %) record along with head coach Ross Yates over that span. Prior to his role with Syracuse, Cull spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the OHL's Guelph Storm from 2004-06.

Cull finished his playing career as a member of the Crunch, appearing in 98 games from 2002-04, tallying two goals, 15 assists and 261 penalty minutes. He skated in a combined 435 AHL games with the Crunch, St. John's, Springfield, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Houston, registering 20 goals, 50 assists and 1,049 penalty minutes.

In addition, Cull spent parts of three seasons as a member of the Houston Aeros (IHL) from 1997-00, skating in 179 games, notching eight goals, 29 assists and 566 penalty minutes. He was a member of the Aeros club that captured the Turner Cup in 1999-00.

Originally signed as a free agent by Toronto on June 4, 1994, Cull's best professional season came in 2000-01 as a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins squad that went to the Calder Cup Finals, when he contributed 11 goals, 15 assists and 166 penalty minutes.
