Louisiana Swashbucklers News Release
LAKE CHARLES - The Louisiana Swashbucklers welcome their newest sponsor Don Shetler Ford and introduced another first for the indoor football team...a traveling billboard.
In addition to supplying the Ford F-150, Don Shetler Ford will be the title sponsor for the team's outdoor tailgate party prior to every Swashbucklers home game in 2009. Signs Now added their magic with a vehicle wrap that includes sponsor and team logos to create one of the most recognizable vehicles in Southwest Louisiana.
"While we have purchased billboards in the past, the moving billboard is getting the best response we've ever received", said team owner Thom Hager. Hager is so surprised by how well the wrap has attracted attention, that he is considering wrapping a second or third vehicle. "Earning back-to-back championships has produced tremendous exposure for the team. I believe a vehicle wrap and tailgating will prove to be intriguing new concepts for the Swashbucklers"
While the Bucs are still just weeks away from their April 25th home opener with the Florida Kings, dealership owner Mike Shetler is already energized about his new relationship with Lake Charles' only professional sports franchise. "I've known Thom for years, and decided now is the time to help his team develop additional marketing concepts", said Shetler. "We support Sulphur High School and various other local organizations, but this is the first year to be a part of the Swashbucklers. It is a great and exciting relationship"
With the season rapidly approaching, Hager maintains that Swashbucklers have always been more than just about football, and that his team is always looking for ways to make a difference in the community. "This is the time that all small business needs to be progressive in their marketing plans in attempt to reach today's consumer. With 95% employment in Southwest Louisiana, new employment opportunities on the horizon, and the survival spirit of Louisiana, I am very excited about our growth potential for the 2009 season and beyond.", states Hager.
All fans are encouraged to join the tailgate parties which will begin an hour before the game on the east entrance of the Lake Charles Civic Center, (facing Courthouse), and end just before kickoff.
