Tucson Toros News Release

The Tucson Toros lost 3-2 to the Yuma Scorpions on Sunday in front of a crowd of 9,158 fans. Tucson erased an early deficit with 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th thanks to RBI singles by both 1B Wally Backman Jr. and RF Francisco Plasencia. The Scorpions took back the lead in the bottom of the frame after a sacrifice fly RBI by CF Timothy Rodriguez to put the Scorpions up 3-2.

Starter James Garcia kept the Toros in the game with a quality start. The righty scattered 7 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings, while striking out 5.

Plasencia had a pair of singles to extend his hitting streak to 14 games, while LF Lino Garcia singled to stretch his to 8 straight
