Tucson Toros News Release
TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Toros won their fourth game in a row Saturday night as they knocked off the Orange County Flyer, 5-2. With the win the Toros improve to 35-30 overall, 18-9 in the second half.
Jordan Muir got the start for the Toros where he went five innings deep. The rookie righty did not figure in the decision as he gave up two runs, on five hits, before giving way to the bullpen.
Toby Nordman was the first of three Toros to appear out of the pen. Nordman pitched two innings of near-perfect relief as he only surrendered one base hit, and earned the win, (1-1). Cibney Bello also chipped in with some quality relief as he threw a scoreless eighth.
Reid Price earned his tenth save of the season as he slammed the door shut with a three-up, three-down ninth inning.
Offensively, the Toros scored five runs on six hits, and they showed some good discipline at the plate, earning seven walks.
Junior Spivey and Andre Marshall each picked up a pair of RBI in the game. Jim Rushford also picked up an RBI as he was hit by a pitch, with bases loaded, in the seventh.
The final game of the three game set is scheduled to start 7:00 pm tomorrow, with Hi Corbett gates open at 6:00 pm.
