May 19, 2002 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Toronto Phantoms News Release

Buffalo, NY: Damian Harrell made 7 catches for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns in a losing cause as the Buffalo Destroyers upset the Toronto Phantoms 49-46.

Buffalo was led by the tandem of Bret and Lamont Cooper (no relation). The Coopers combined for 263 all-purpose yards and 4 touchdowns helping Buffalo move into a first place tie in the Eastern Division with Toronto.

Toronto had to play without a pair of injured starters, Steve Konopka and Charlie Davidson. Both players sat out with nagging hamstring injuries. Luke Leverson was inserted into the Toronto starting lineup in Davidson's abscence and flourished in that role with 2 touchdown receptions.

Chad Salisbury paced the Toronto offence with 253 passing yards and 5 scoring passes. Anthony Derricks came up with an interception, 7 1/2 tackles and 148 kick return yards -- including a 56 yard return for a touchdown.

Toronto's record falls to 3-2 overall, 1-2 on the road.
