Topeka Pilots News Release
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) on Tuesday announced the league's All-Rookie teams, and among those named was first year RoadRunner forward Quinn Preston. He was listed as part of the NAHL All-South Division Rookie Team.
Preston came to the RoadRunners from Trenton HS in Trenton, MI where he established numerous school records. For Topeka, he tallied 17 goals and 17 assists in the regular season, earning him "Rookie of the Year" honors at the team's annual awards banquet, an award voted on solely by the players. In the first round of the playoffs, he led the team in goals with three, including the overtime game winner in Game 2.
Last year, Tyler Irvine received the same award. Other RoadRunners named to the NAHL All-Rookie team over the years include Chris Berenguer, Tom Kleidon, Eriah Hayes, and Bryce Johnson. All-NAHL Rookie Second Team honors have gone to Ben Bahe, Tyler Andrew, and Cody Champagne. One former 'Runner was named NAHL Rookie of the Year, and that was Justin Hussar in 2011.
The league will be announcing other awards throughout the week.
