THE SEASON SERIES: The Bucks and the Ice Bats have split the previous four meetings at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Austin has won all three meetings at the Travis County Expo Center. The Bucks play in Austin again on February 21.
CAPITAL GANG: Brent Hughes' Ice Bats continue to dominate the Central Hockey League with 75 points and a winning percentage of .815. The Bats' road record of 17-5-1 is easily the league's best. Austin has the league's top penalty kill and third-ranked power play. Austin's team goals-against average of 1.98 is ..33 better than second-ranked Indianapolis. In the first two periods of games this season, the Ice Bats have outscored their opponents 103-48.
PETRUIC POWER: Right wing Jeff Petruic has seven points in his last three games. Since the Bucks acquired Petruic from Wichita, the Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native has posted twelve points in eight games and a plus/minus of +11. Wichita, meanwhile, has lost six consecutive games.

HEARTS ON SLEEVES: The Bucks will wear a special Valentine's Day jersey on Friday, February 14 when the New Mexico Scorpions make their first visit to Laredo. The jerseys will be available in a silent auction at Bucks home games Sunday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 19. This the last commemorative jersey the Bucks will wear in the inaugural 2002-2003 season.
NEWS CONFERENCE: Tomorrow morning at 10:00am, the Bucks will make a major announcement regarding hockey's future at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Due to the Santana concert tomorrow night, news media and invited guests only will be permitted to attend at the arena's main entrance.
