Tom Prizeman to Return as Bells Broadcaster in 2017
November 17, 2016 - West Coast League (WCL)
Bellingham Bells News Release
The Bellingham Bells are excited to announce Tom Prizeman will return as the voice of the Bells for the 2017 season. Prizeman will provide play-by-play commentary for all 57 games during the summer, both home and away. Prizeman will enter his second season as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations with the Bells after a strong debut season in 2016, in which he called all 62 games as the Bells chased the West Coast League championship, eventually falling to the Corvallis Knights in game three of the WCL Championship Series.
"We are thrilled to have Tom return to the Bells," Bells' general manager Stephanie Morrell said. "Tom is extremely talented, and with a year of WCL experience under his belt, I know he will take our radio broadcast and overall media relations department to new heights in 2017. Our fans really connected with Tom last year and I know they will be glad to have him calling the action for another season!"
Prizeman is a Pleasantville, New York native and is a junior at Illinois State University. Prizeman currently works for 103.3 WZND in Bloomington-Normal, calling Redbird football, volleyball, basketball and baseball. Prior to joining the Bells, Prizeman worked as a broadcaster with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League, the Hudson Valley Renegades, single-A affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
"Last summer was one of the most enjoyable of my life," Prizeman said. "To be able to return to a great community in Bellingham, work for a wonderful organization and continue to explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest, all while calling baseball, was a chance I couldn't pass up. I am thankful to Eddie Poplawski, Stephanie Morrell, and Nick Caples for this fantastic opportunity. I look forward to working with them to build upon the great foundation we already have, to expand our coverage of the Bells for our great fans."
Bells' fans will be able to hear Prizeman over the airwaves for the first time in 2017 when Bellingham plays host to WCL foe, the Gresham GreyWolves, on Friday June 2nd at 6:35 at Joe Martin Field.
