Tom McCoy named ABA Vice President-Radio and Television

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today named Tom McCoy, Vice President-Radio and Television.

According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "Tom provides the ABA with an extensive background in all aspects of radio and television station management, operations, programming and marketing. He can talk general broadcasting and sports' broadcasting with any existing or potential ABA affiliate or network. Importantly, he has been on the "ground floor" with start-up, national and regional information and sports networks. Additionally, Tom is an attorney who has negotiated major and minor professional sports' rights agreements. We are fortunate to have a person with such credentials as part of the ABA."

*President-Manager, KWBP-TV, Portland, Oregon
*Chief Operating Officer, Lodestar Communications Group (radio stations' operator and state radio news-sports networks in Oregon and Washington).
*Vice President-Consultant, Broadcast Equities, Inc (Radio, TV and national radio news network).
*Vice President-Operations, Golden West Broadcasters (Hollywood-based radio and television station owner, major league baseball team owner and operator of professional and collegiate baseball, football and basketball networks).
*Vice President & General Manager, Financial News Network. Assisted in creation of format and managed start-up of nation's first all business news television network now known as CNBC.
*Vice President-Government Relations, National Association of Broadcasters, Washington, D.C.
*Executive Vice President & General Manager, National Radio Broadcasters Association, Washington, D.C.
*Attorney, Federal Communications Commission, Washington, D.C.
