Vancouver Whitecaps News Release

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that men's assistant coach Todd Wawrousek, who just completed his final year on his contract, will not return for the 2010 season.

"We are thankful to Todd for his service and dedication to the club," said Whitecaps president Bob Lenarduzzi. "Todd was a constant professional throughout his three-year tenure with the men's team and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours."

Prior to joining the Whitecaps in February 2007, Wawrousek was the head coach of the Gettysburg College women's team between 1990 and 2006, as well as the assistant coach with the now defunct Hershey Wildcats between 1997 and 2001.

"It has been a privilege to work with, and for, so many great staff, players and fans who have contributed their collective initiative and commitment to the success of our team," said Wawrousek. "A special thanks to the Whitecaps ownership group who make it all possible and to my coaching colleagues Teitur Thordarson and Mike Salmon with whom it has been a privilege to serve. I am very proud of our accomplishments, all of which have been very gratifying."

2010 Whitecaps season tickets are now on sale. Season tickets include all men's and women's team regular season and playoff home matches at Swangard Stadium, Nutrilite Canadian Championship home matches against Toronto FC and Montreal Impact, as well as priority listing for Vancouver MLS 2011 in BC Place.
