Today's Baseball At U. S. Steel Yard Cancelled By Rain

GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats exhibition game against the St. Paul Saints, scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, has been cancelled by rain. This evening's scheduled High School Challenge contest between Covenant Christian and Gary West Side has also been rained out. Neither game will be made up.

Fans holding tickets for today's game can bring them to U. S. Steel Yard for admission to any RailCats game this summer. The RailCats exhibition schedule continues Wednesday at 6 p.m. when they square off against the Valparaiso University Crusaders in a fundraiser for Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana.

The RailCats opened the exhibition season Monday night against St. Paul, falling 11-0. The 'Cats have six more exhibition games scheduled before the start of the regular season, while the Saints will begin the American Association season Thursday night at Midway Stadium.

The rain-out of tonight's High School Challenge, presented by St. Anthony Sports Medicine Institute in Crown Point, game brings the eighth-annual event to a close. Fans holding tickets for tonight's high school game can bring those tickets to the park for $3 off admission to any RailCats game.
